You have to be in it to win it.

“You Have To Be In It To Win It”

Main Bible Verse: Do everything without complaining or arguing,  so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe – Philippians 2:14-15

Often we grumble and argue about what is going on around us, in our lives, the lives of other and in the church. But in Philippians 2:14, Paul challenges us to do everything without complaining or arguing so that we will be different in a world full of complaints and arguments & moaning!!!

One of my favourite saying is “You have to be in it to win it” or in other words “Quit grumbling, complaining or arguing about something that you are not willing to get involved with and bring about change.”

Mahatma Gandhi said “Be the change you want to see in the world”. What about if we actually applied this to the situations that we grumble, complain and argue about. What if we became the change? Now there’s  a thought!!

So let me challenge you my ‘friends’ – Fill in the blank below with the situation you're grumbling, complaining and arguing about. Then simply get into that situation and be ‘in it to win it’.

Mind Games
Key Bible Verse:   Philippians 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Our National Health Service is inundated with a ‘sickly’ nation, a nation stressed to the eye balls and worried about their future.

What does the skyline look like in your town or city? Are there new structures of medical facilities shining like a beacon to our communities?  ‘Come on in..... we’ve been waiting for you.’  I suggest there are!

A doctor once said, “seventy percent of all my patients could cure themselves if they would get rid of their worry and fear”.
Hold on a mo, as Christians, should we join the queue or perhaps we’re first in line?

I encourage you not to focus on the ‘what ifs’, the ‘yeh buts’, rather pray about everything and thank him for all he has done!

Then, IN ALL AND THROUGH ALL we will experience Gods peace.

Time to stop rocking ourselves to sleep with a mind full of scenarios and start trusting God.

Choose Your Direction - March 2010

Key Bible Verse:  ‘Just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy” 1 Peter 1: 15 - 16

October 31, 1983 a Korean Airlines flight 007 departed from Anchorage, Alaska for a direct flight to Seoul, Korea.
Unknown to the crew however, the on board computer flight navigation system contained a seemingly minimal 1½ degree route error. At the point of departure, the mistake was unnoticeable
One hundred miles out from destination, the error was still undetected. But as the giant 747 continued with 269 souls on board over the Pacific, the plane strayed increasingly from its proper course. Eventually it was flying over Soviet air space.
Soviet radar picked up the wayward plane and fighter jets scrambled into the air to intercept. Over the mainland Russia the jets shot flight 007 out of the sky, and all souls on board lost their lives.
We set out in our lives hopefully to listen, obey and live out Gods will for our lives, we assure ourselves we are on the right path and all’s well!
However a seemingly small deviation, an auto pilot decision taken very early on at departure, you know Just a small insignificant undetected thought process or action puts us on a path that ultimately leads to misery and harm.
A challenge for us all!
Are we straying from Gods will in our life? If so let us be determined to STOP  deal with and put right!
